What is IOP?

The Intensive Outpatient Program provides a smooth transition from inpatient drug or alcohol rehab to the resumption of your normal life.  Here clients will explore the root causes of their addiction on a deeper level and begin to heal from trauma or other mental health conditions that contributed to their addiction.  Whether you are returning home or to a halfway house after rehab, IOP allows you to continue to build on what you learned there while giving you the flexibility you need to thrive in recovery.

Benefits of Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehab

Outpatient drug and alcohol rehabs are extremely beneficial in helping those afflicted with addiction maintain support during the early stages of recovery.  Research has shown that those who continue treatment after rehab is twice as likely to remain sober than those who do not.  Additional benefits include:

  • Flexibility in your schedule allows you to return to work, school, spend time with family, or whatever is important to you.
  • Outpatient rehab is more cost-effective because you still receive all the life-changing therapies you would on inpatient, without the 24/7 time commitment.
  • Continuing treatment after the completion of a rehab program will greatly decrease your chances of relapsing.
  • It provides an opportunity to meet others who are just starting out their own recovery journey which provides both accountability and support.
  • IOP includes the same trauma therapies, group therapies, and education as inpatient rehabs, just on your schedule.

PHP vs. IOP: Which One is Right for You?

Deciding which level of care is best for you can be complicated and confusing.  The Source strives to make the process as simple as possible and have treatment specialists available 24/7 to answer your questions and help you navigate insurance.  When determining which program fits your needs, it’s important to consider what your goals are for recovery, if you need detox, and what amount of time you’re willing to commit to the program.  For those who are new to rehab, need to detox, or have never received treatment before; the Partial Hospitalization Program may be your best choice.  PHP is available with or without housing to support anyone looking for addiction treatment.  Their gorgeous, resort-style private residents are equipped with pools, grills, and delicious food catered daily.  Addressing trauma and mental health conditions, alongside the addiction is the cornerstone of both programs, however, PHP offers significantly more (25 hours) weekly hours of both individual and group therapy.  Guests will also enjoy weekend excursions to the local beaches, AA meetings, and other fun activities.

IOP at The Source

IOP at The Source consists of 9 weekly hours of treatment to allow you to resume a more normal schedule.  This program is designed for someone who has been through rehab before and wants additional support, does not require around-the-clock care, or anyone with a family or obligations that require them to be home.   Here, clients will take a deeper look at issues addressed during inpatient and will have ample opportunities to share successes and struggles with their peers through group therapy.  Relapse education, including warning signs, prevention, and management, is an important part of IOP because it equips clients with the knowledge they need to be successful in recovery.  For more information about how The Source Treatment Center can help you or someone you love struggling with drug or alcohol use, please call (800)204-0418 or visit them online at www.thesourcetreatmentcenter.com
