Hypnotherapy

Welcome to The Source Addiction Treatment Center & Our Exclusive Therapy Programs

Hypnotherapy is one of the unique treatments offered at The Source Addiction Treatment Center. Hypnotherapy combines hypnosis with psychotherapy to help people achieve a state of deep relaxation where they are more open to suggestion. Guided hypnosis helps a person to become less aware of what is happening around them allowing them to focus deeply on their own inner experience and feelings.

It can be difficult to identify the source of unresolved issues. Turning focus and attention inward without outside distraction can help a person explore and heal the source of negative feelings and unhealthy, limiting beliefs. Positive suggestions and guided imagery are then used to help put the pieces together and process those emotions, so true healing can begin.

The Benefits of Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy can help uncover the underlying causes of addiction that would otherwise be kept hidden with other more traditional forms of therapy. By helping the subconscious mind communicate with the conscious mind, we can discover why certain destructive behaviors are present and break away from them. Finding why the behavior is there instead of just attempting to change the behavior, can provide more stable sobriety in the long run.

Like many other therapies that treat the core of the issue, hypnotherapy is not an instant fix and may require many sessions. This does not mean the effects of a session will not be felt immediately.  Hypnotherapy is a great way to de-stress because it deeply relaxes the body. Besides treating substance abuse, hypnotherapy can also help reduce anxiety, phobias, bad habits, insomnia, digestive issues and so much more.  All of these are symptoms that can be present throughout the stages of recovery.

How Hypnotherapy Works

Hypnotherapy sessions can vary from person to person because they are tailored to the individual.  They are performed in a caring, therapeutic environment where the patient is guided into a state of relaxed focus. They are directed to focus on their deep thoughts that may not be so obvious in a full waking state to safely find the source of their trauma. Then, through positive suggestion, the therapist helps them find their inner strength to make changes where needed. It can provide a new perspective and confidence to quit a substance.

Hypnotherapy is not for everyone and does not work the same way for each person. Between the therapist and the patient, they can decide whether this is a good option for them to use alongside other treatments.
