Can I Work During Outpatient Rehab?

We realize that there are many clients who may identify the fact that they are struggling with addiction, however, they don’t have the flexibility to be able to exclusively focus on recovery through our inpatient program. Our outpatient program gives you the chance to work toward overcoming your addiction while still adhering to your professional responsibilities at home in Miami.

At any point in time, if you need us to communicate with your employer, we are happy to do so. When you come to The Source, you will be assigned a case manager who can work with you and your employer to relay pertinent information. Keep in mind, we will never disclose anything about your recovery that makes you feel uncomfortable.

What is Outpatient Drug Rehab Like?

The premise of our outpatient drug treatment program is to help our clients come to an understanding of what led them down the path of addiction in the first place. From there, we can formulate a plan that will help you to maintain your sobriety once you are done with your program. Keep in mind that we never put a time limit on the duration of your treatment plan. We know that every client is different which is why we continuously monitor your growth and development during the course of your program. In most cases, an outpatient program will last a number of weeks or months.

Although our clients generally do take part in a variety of therapies, the two main forms of counseling that you will likely participate in the most are group and individual therapy sessions. If you have ever attended a 12-step meeting in Miami or elsewhere, you will notice that there are many similarities between a 12-step meeting and group therapy. During group therapy, you will have the chance to share your opinions about certain topics associated with addiction, sobriety, and recovery. In turn, you will listen to the thoughts of other people that are in your group. Actively participating in this type of therapy helps you to come to a better understanding of your addiction while developing a system of support that is critical to your overall recovery. In most cases, you will spend at least three hours per week in group therapy.

Individual therapy, on the other hand, gives you the opportunity to meet with one of our counselors on a one-on-one basis. These sessions are beneficial due to the fact that you may not feel comfortable talking about certain experiences in a group setting. Individual therapy provides you with the peace of mind of knowing that our counselors are always available to help you through the pain of these traumatic events. You will participate in individual therapy for at least one hour each week.

What To Expect During Outpatient Rehab?

It’s important to remember that each treatment plan we create is individually tailored to suit the needs of each of our clients. To ensure that you get the most out of your time at The Source, one of the first things that we do is complete a thorough assessment of your physical and mental health. For example, we will complete a full medical exam that will include blood work as well as gathering more information about your current nutritional status.

From there, we will complete a psychological exam. This type of examination will help us to develop a better understanding of your current mental state which is an asset when it comes to determining the root cause of your addiction. From there, we can help you to begin to focus on the therapeutic techniques that will help you address the events or traumas in your life that may have affected your life to the point that you turned toward addiction.
