Can I Work During Outpatient Rehab?

One of the leading questions that we get from people that are interested in coming to our Fort Lauderdale location is whether or not they can continue working during the course of their treatment. For many clients, working is a necessity because they need to support themselves or their families. However, they still recognize the fact that they are battling an addiction that needs to be addressed as soon as possible.

Our outpatient program is structured in such a way where you can receive treatment but still adhere to your personal or professional responsibilities. When you first come to The Source, we will partner you with a member of our team that will help you to develop a schedule for your program. Unlike our partial hospitalization program, our outpatient clients are only required to complete a minimum of three hours of group therapy as well as at least an hour of individual therapy.

What is Outpatient Drug Rehab Like?

From the moment that you walk through the door of our drug rehab in West Palm Beach, you will feel the support that our team has to offer. Many people, unfortunately, have a misconception associated with an addiction recovery facility which can lead to people that are in need of help shying away from it. The Source is different. Our facility is bright, open, and inviting.

We understand that every one of our clients is unique in their own needs, specifically our outpatient clients. When you first come to The Source we will do a comprehensive assessment of you both physically and psychologically. Our physical exam will include completing bloodwood as well as looking into your current nutritional health. At The Source, we believe that the only way that you can truly overcome your addiction is to confirm that you are in good physical health so that we can start helping you with the psychological side of addiction.

Before we can begin to help you put a plan in place to overcome your addiction, our team must first have an in-depth understanding of your psychological condition. Although this may feel uncomfortable, it’s a necessary step to ensure that we are providing you with the right kind of care. Once this part of the process is done, we can begin to assist you in working through the different forms of trauma-based therapies that we offer at The Source.

What to Expect During Outpatient Rehab?

One of the common questions that we receive from clients that are interested in coming to treatment revolves around what they can expect during their time at The Source. It’s important to remember that although each client program is slightly different, our clients will still participate in the same forms of therapy. Group therapy will play a focal role during your program. If you have ever attended a 12-step meeting, you will quickly see that our group therapy sessions take on a similar feel. These sessions are guided by a member of our team who will present a variety of different topics that you and your fellow group members will discuss. One day you may talk about a subject that specifically revolves around addiction, while another day may include sobriety while the next time you come, you may talk about recovery.

During these sessions, we encourage you to be open and honest about what you are thinking and feeling regarding these topics. In addition, we ask that you keep an open mind and an open heart with reference to what you will hear our team say about these topics as well as what other clients that are in your group will say. Although you may not always agree with the different points of view that you may hear, actively participating in group therapy will go a long way to aid in your recovery.

Individual therapy is another form of counseling that we implement for our outpatient clients at The Source. It’s understandable that your traumatic experiences may result in you not feeling comfortable sharing them in a group setting. Although our hope will be that ultimately one day you will feel comfortable taking this step, individual therapy provides you with the one-on-one attention you need from a member of our team to begin working through some of these issues.

During individual counseling, we will not only discuss your past and your addiction, but we will also help you to develop a plan going forward. We do everything that we can to provide you with every opportunity to succeed which is why putting a relapse prevention plan in place is critical. We will speak with you about putting together such a plan and also check in with you to see how you are feeling as your treatment plan progresses. Remember, if you think that there is anything that we can do to help your recovery, just let us know and we will do everything that we can to make it happen.
