First, Alcohol Detox – Then Rehab
Before you can truly commit yourself to any recovery plan, it’s imperative that you remove the influence of alcohol from your system. This is done by going through a comprehensive detox program. The Source proudly partners with numerous detox facilities throughout the country including ones that are close to the Delray Beach area. We can set you up with the opportunity to go to one of these facilities so that you can be under their care as you begin to go through withdrawal symptoms.
It’s important to remember that within just a few hours of the last time that you took your drink of choice, you will begin to experience withdrawal symptoms. These symptoms are very unpredictable and potentially dangerous with is the leading reason why you should never attempt to go through this process alone. For the majority of people, they will spend approximately one week in detox with the height of their symptoms resulting between the first and third day of detox. Once you complete the detox process, you will have the opportunity to better focus on putting together a healthy treatment plan.
Getting to the Root of Alcohol Addiction
The Source team believes that the root cause of alcohol addiction stems from some form of trauma. Many of our clients come to The Source and we come to find that they have suffered from physical, psychological or sexual abuse at some point in their life. Other clients come to us and they were first responders that have not been able to overcome the emotion ramifications of calls that they responded to. We will help you to begin to address these events so in an effort to reduce the negative feelings associated with them so that they will not be something that triggers you in the future. Taking the approach can also help to reduce the possibility of relapse once you return back home to Delray Beach.
Overcoming Addiction With Therapy
The leading way that you can overcome your alcohol addiction is through participate in different forms of therapy. One of the main forms of counseling that you will take part in during your time at our partial hospitalization program is group therapy. Group therapy is very similar to an AA meetings in the sense that it provides you with the chance to begin to develop your own system of support.
During group meetings you will be able to share your thoughts and experiences regarding different subjects that are associated with addiction and recovery. In turn, you will have the chance to listen to the insight of other people that are in your group. You will quickly come to see that your experiences may be very similar to that of another person that is in your group which can trigger an open line of communication between yourself and that other person.
Individual counseling will also play a pivotal role in your recovery in the sense that it provides you with the chance to speak to a member of our team in a one-on-one setting.
