What is Drug Rehab Like?

Not all drug rehab programs are the same.  The Source is dedicated to providing compassionate care and personalized treatment programs that suit each client. From the moment you reach out for help, you will be valued and supported.  We will promise to help you however we can, even if we aren’t the right fit for you, we’ll help you find a trusted provider who is.  If you do decide to enter an addiction treatment program at The Source, you’ll be welcomed into our family from the moment you walk through our doors.

Upon admission, you will undergo a full evaluation which will consist of blood work, medical history, nutritional assessment, and a psychological exam. This information will be used to develop a treatment plan, unique to your specific needs, that will effectively guide your treatment while in drug rehab. Once that is established, your treatment can begin!

A typical day at rehab will consist of waking up in the morning, eating a healthy breakfast, attending group and individual therapy sessions, lunch, afternoon therapies, dinner, and free time. The purpose of a structured schedule is to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for you to thrive in while you learn healthy ways to cope. Depending on which level of care you attend, you may have weekend trips to the beach or NA meetings as well.

Drug Rehab Levels of Care

The Source offers four levels of care to best serve those afflicted with drug addiction.

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) For many, this is the perfect place to start addiction treatment after completing detox. Here clients will stay in a luxury, single-family residence provided by The Source, many of which have their own pools and backyard barbecues. Clients will receive close monitoring daily, 25 weekly hours of treatment, individual and group therapy, and weekend trips to the beach and meetings.
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) This program is intended to be a coordinated transition from an inpatient program to a home, so you will receive the same therapies and resources you had available on inpatient while being able to return home each day.
  • Outpatient (OP) The OP is designed to help anyone at any stage of their recovery journey. Here you will receive at least three hours of group therapy and one hour of individual therapy. Relapse prevention and management are often discussed in OP to equip clients with the tools they need to identify if they are at risk for relapsing and what to do should one happen.
  • Stabilization- This program can be beneficial to people who are unable to commit to full-time drug rehab due to family, work, or other obligations, but need some help in overcoming their addiction. The stabilization program is a two-week stay in PHP and is a shortened and more intense version so they can get back to their “normal life” quickly while still getting the help they need.

Benefits of Traveling Out of Town for Rehab

If you have not had the opportunity to travel out of Scranton much the past few years, the idea of traveling for rehab may be anxiety-provoking at first, however, there are many benefits to traveling out of town for rehab. Benefits include:

  • You get the added bonus of enjoying warmer weather and the beautiful beaches in Florida.
  • Sometimes the best thing we can do for our recovery is to remove ourselves from toxic environments, and traveling all the way to Florida will do just that!
  • Whether they intend to or not, sometimes it is the people who love us the most that enable our behavior to continue using, so separating from them for a bit may be helpful as you learn to navigate life without drugs or alcohol.
  • Think of this change in scenery as a symbolic representation of the changes you will be making within yourself while you attend rehab.

Drug Rehab at The Source in Fort Lauderdale

The Source believes that most people who struggle with substance abuse do so because of underlying issues that have not yet been addressed. Having a substance use disorder and a mental health condition is what’s known as a dual diagnosis.  The co-occurring mental health disorder could be PTSD, depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions. In order to best treat substance misuse, these underlying conditions must be addressed so clients have the tools they need to be successful in recovery. Our compassionate, non-judgemental staff will work with you every step of the way to ensure you feel supported and understood during your time there.
